Show Hide Page in Rubisight Dashboard


1. Overview
  • The Show / Hide Page feature allows users to control page visibility within a dashboard.
  • This is useful for restricting access, staging content, or simplifying navigation.

 

2. Default Behavior
  • All newly created dashboard pages are visible by default.
  • Visible pages appear in:
   – Page tabs
   – Navigation menus
   – All modes

 

3. Permissions
  • Only users with Edit Access can change page visibility.
  • Viewers cannot show/hide pages.
  • Shared users inherit visibility settings defined by editor.

 

4. How to Hide a Page

  Steps:

1.     Open dashboard in Edit Mode

2.     Locate page in the page list.

3.     Click arrow icon beside page name to get respective page options.

4.     Enable Hide Page option for that page

5.     Save dashboard

  Result:
   • Page disappears from navigation tabs
   • Page becomes inaccessible in All  modes

 

5. How to Show a Hidden Page

  Steps:

1.     Open dashboard in Edit Mode

2.     Click horizontal ellipsis option in page navigation bar.

3.     Hover on page which you want to unhide/show.

4.     Click the eye icon to unhide the page

5.     The page gets added as per the sequence and is now visible

6.     Save dashboard

  Result:
   • Page becomes visible again in all modes.

 

6. Behavior Rules
  1. Hiding a page does not delete:
   – Widgets
   – Filters
   – Layout
   – Data configuration
  1. Visibility state persists after:
   – Refresh
   – Logout/Login
   – Dashboard reopen

  1. Each page visibility is independent.
  2. Hidden page when added back as visible gets added in the same position as it was previously.

 

7. Restrictions

  1. System will not allow hiding all pages.
  2. At least one page must always remain visible.
  3. If user attempts to hide last visible page → action blocked with Hide Page options disabled.
  4. Last visible page is restricted for deletion.

 

8. Export & Distribution Behavior
  1. Hidden pages are excluded from:
  1. PDF exports
  2. PPT exports
  3. Scheduled email reports (The select page options should not show the hidden pages in the list for selection. If selected previously and is currently hidden, then it is not considered in the schedule -export pdf/ppt. The export of other visible pages if any takes place in this case).

  1. Visible pages only will be included in outputs.
  2. On import of project with dashboard with hidden pages, the page configuration is retained. (Hidden pages remains hidden and vice versa.) The hidden pages are retaining their respective page-level configurations/formatting as in the original dashboard.
  3. Copied dashboard or Save as dashboard retains page visibility configuration.

 

9. Navigation & Access Rules

  Hidden pages:
   • Do not appear in tabs for page navigations.
   • Cannot be accessed via navigation using hyperlink url, button chart navigation, drill through page.
   • Cannot be opened via direct link

 

10. Integration Behavior

  1. Button widgets or navigation links pointing to hidden pages:
   → Navigation blocked
   → System redirects to first visible page of that dashboard.

  1. External embedded dashboards respect page visibility rules.
