Comma Format Options in Number Formatting

 


  • Overview
    • Comma Format options allow users to display numbers based on region-specific digit grouping and separators.
    • These options are available under the Comma Format dropdown and are enabled only when comma formatting is turned ON.

    • Supported across all formatters where number formatting is applicable, such as:
      • Data Labels
      • Values
      • Totals
      • Tooltip
      • Axis Labels
  • Compatibility
    • Works seamlessly with other number formatting options (decimal places, scaling, prefixes/suffixes, etc.).

 

Available Comma Format Options (with Example)

  • Sample Value Used: 13322231.45
  • Available format options are as below:

 

  • en-IN (Indian Number System)
    • Formats numbers using lakh and crore grouping.
    • Formatted Value: 1,33,22,231.45
    • Grouping pattern: 3 digits (rightmost), then 2 digits.

 

  • en-US (US Number System)
    • Standard international grouping with commas.
    • Formatted Value: 13,322,231.45
    • Grouping pattern: 3 digits throughout.

  • en-GB (UK Number System)
    • Similar to US format with standard comma separation.
    • Formatted Value: 13,322,231.45
    • Grouping pattern: 3 digits throughout.

 

  • de-DE (German Number System)
    • Uses dot (.) as thousand separator and comma (,) as decimal separator.
    • Formatted Value: 13.322.231,45

 

Key Notes

  • These formats only affect visual representation, not the underlying data.
  • Useful for localization and improving readability for region-specific users.
  • Can be combined with Display Unit Mapping  (K, M, B) and decimal precision settings.
