Data Labels in Pie and Donut Charts

Data Labels in Pie and Donut Charts

Refer Data labels for using general formatting options for the charts. Along with these options, Pie and Donut charts are provided with additional formatting options.

The below options are available with their respective formatting options-

Figure 1: Pie Chart-Data Label Formatting Options

1.    Connector Length: The connector length refers to the distance between the data labels and the outer edge (radius) of the Pie or Donut chart, as applicable. Input box is available to set the connector length in number. Default is 10 and Maximum is set as 100. More the value, more is the distance of the data labels displayed from the outer edge and vice versa. The value entered as negative is also accepted, showing data labels inside pie/donut chart.

2.     Value: This option refers to the aggregated value for the measure configuration. The option is provided with Checkbox and other Number Style formatting options like- Decimal Places, Display Unit, Number Format, Prefix/Suffix, Orientation and Position. The checkbox is set enabled by default showing the value data label by default on the chart for the available legend categories.

3.     Percentage: This option refers to the Percentage share of the respective category out of all the aggregated value plotted on the chart. This option is provided with checkbox to enable or disable the percentage value in the data labels. This option is provided with additional formatting option of Decimal Places to set the decimal places in the Percentage Value.

4.     Category: This option refers to the Categorical values plotted on the chart as per the legend configuration. This option is set enabled by default and can be enabled/disabled as per requirements.

Below is the Pie chart showing the respective configuration changes as configured in Figure 1.

As in Figure 2, all the formatting options for data labels are displayed on chart as per the configuration.

These formatting options can be set enabled/disabled in any combinations or with none of them.
