Configuring Display Unit Mapping

Display Unit Mapping-Formatter

To display chart labels/tooltip values/axis labels and such applicable values wherein the display unit is displayed, the formatter -Display Unit Mapping is available in the page level Format pane options. (To Navigate: Click Format >> Click Display Unit Mapping). Refer Number Format for setting Display Units and respective other formatters.

These mapped values are applicable on all the charts configured on that page. Separate page- wise configurations are needed for display unit mapping. The mapped values against respective Display Unit are applicable for all charts wherever these Display Units are referenced to.

The display unit options- Thousand, Lakhs, Millions, Crores, Billions, Trillions are display with their default mapped values- K, L, M, C, B, T.

The mapped values are available in Input Box which is editable and hence these values can be set as per requirements.

Customize Display Unit Mapping

To use custom values for the Display Units, the required value is mapped against the display unit. For example, below are the chart visuals displayed for the default mapped values, for same charts available on Page 1 and Page 2 of dashboard as in below Figure 2: Default Display Unit Mapping and Chart Values:

The data labels and axis labels are displayed with currently mapped default values of Billions and Crores with B and C respectively. For both Page 1 and Page 2 the display units displayed are same.

In Pie chart the data labels are displayed with display unit set as Crores and hence values are displayed like- 23.85C, 21.67C, etc.

Similarly, for line chart the data labels, set as by default are displayed with Billions and Crores with values -1.36B, 18.09C, etc. Same is applied for axis labels with values showing as 50C, 1B, etc.

Mapping Display Units

To map the Display Units, follow below steps:

1.   Navigate to the Dashboard Page where display units need to be mapped.

2.   Click Format

3.   Click Display Unit Mapping formatter

4.   Enter the mapped values against the respective display units

5.   Observe on the charts

For Page 1, in Display Unit Mapping formatter, the mapped value against Billions is set as Blank (No value/empty value) and for Crores it is set as ‘Cr’ as below:

On charts the changes get reflected immediately as -Display Unit with Billions and Crores displayed previously as B and C respectively are displayed as ‘Empty Unit/No Unit’ and ‘Cr’ respectively.

The charts display for Page 1 after mapping Display Units as below:

For Page 2, in Display Unit Mapping formatter, the mapped value against Billions is set as ‘Bn
₹’ and for Crores it is set as ‘ Cr’ as below:

As can be seen from above Figure, the mapped changes for display units are reflected on the charts.

For tooltip also, same changes are applicable and the tooltip on hover displays as below:

Notes:

·         The changes are page specific and the display units as mapped in Display Unit Mapping formatter are applicable for all charts available on the page.

·         Display Unit Mapping changes are applicable on all modes of dashboard.

·         Display Unit Mapping changes are applicable with other formatters including – Number Style Formatting (Set Display Unit, Set Decimal Places, Prefix, Suffix).

·         Display Unit Mapping is applicable for all Number Style configurations- Data Labels, Tooltip, Axis Labels, Total/SubTotal/Grand Totals.

·         The import/export, save as carry forward this configuration with the dashboard.

·         The chart set with Display Unit Mapping and in at a glance view shows default mapped values of display units irrespective of the configuration done at page level.
