Highlight Formatting for Solid Guage Chart

Before you walk through the below guide to set the Highlight on Solid Guage chart, you can refer Highlight for getting more details of the Highlight option to set the conditional formatting on the chart.

For Solid Guage chart, to set the Conditional Formatting the Highlight formatter is available in the formatter section.

By default, the Highlight formatting options are not visible. Turn the Apply toggle button ON () to format the data color, as per the satisfied condition.


Solid Guage chart plotted as below with with Value configuration. You can plot with any valid configuration with or without other available configurations of – Minimum, Maximum, Target. The figure given below shows the plotted Solid Guage chart.

To apply conditional formatting, refer Highlight and follow the steps as mentioned.

For highlight, while setting conditions we use below applicable conditions:

After applying the Highlight configuration, the chart is displayed as below:

The chart data color changes are overwritten and chart data color is set to Orange because first condition added in Highlight modal is satisfied (The value 32.52Thousands is less than 40000, which sets orange color). Topmost satisfied condition is considered for setting the changes on the chart.

Update/Removal of added conditions on the highlight configuration is allowed.

To update the Highlight – Formatters >> Click Highlight >> Click Edit Formatting >> Change/Update the conditions >> Apply.

To remove the Highlight >> Set Apply toggle button to OFF.

To configure solid guage chart with Plot Band to set the different data ranges and set the highlight as per those ranges, refer Configuring Plot Bands in Solid Guage Chart.

Notes:

  • When chart is configured with all available configurations either from Configuration or from Formatters >> Guage Axis option, then also the highlight condition considers value configuration as LHS to compare with set Operator and Operand Value.
  • Conditions configured in Highlight modal are evaluated for run-time data and set the respective changes on chart. Filtered data on chart at that respective instant gets considered while evaluating the condition and reflect the Highlight changes in the chart.
  • Solid guage can either be configured with Highlight or Plot Band configurations.
