Adding a New Location

You can add a location by

  • Clicking Locations in the Manage dropdown (for the first time)
  • Clicking Add New Location on the top-right corner of the Locations page (after you have added a location)
  • Clicking Add Location from the Create (  ) menu on the title pane.

To add a location,

  1. In the Manage dropdown, click Locations. A Create New Thing Location page is displayed.
  2. Enter a suitable Name for the location. This field is mandatory.
  3. Enter the correct Latitude and Longitude values for the location.
  4. Add a suitable Description of the location.
  5. Click Create. The location is created and added to the list on the Locations page.



Notes

  • The latitude and longitude values are expressed in terms of degrees, minutes, and seconds, where
  • One degree = 60 minutes
  • One minute = 60 seconds
  • The latitude and longitude for a location are converted into decimal values and then entered in the respective fields on the Create New Thing Location page.
